Hodgepode

I am linking up at my mom's blog today for the Wednesday Hodgepodge. Hop on over to share you answers!

1. What song reminds you of a specific time in your life and what is it about that song that makes you remember?
The first 2 Needtobreathe albums (Daylight and The Heat) take me back to my college days every time because that's where I first heard them. They used to play at fraternity functions and at the Handlebar downtown. And I can still picture myself dancing on the patio of the Polynesian Hotel with all my favorite people singing We Could Run Away sophomore year. Or crying whenever I heard the song More Time senior year because I was almost out of time.

(Senior year)

2.What's something that you've given up on?
Washington D.C/ Politicians- they always fall short of their promises.

3.What's something you'll never give up on?
God's love for me and his promises for my life- He never fails!

4. If you had to cook something from scratch in the next hour what would it be?
The other day Peter and I bought all the ingredients to make this yummy Garlic Parmesan Edamame that I pinned the other day. It wouldn't be that much of a meal but looks like a delicious side or snack dish to me:

5. Have you started Christmas shopping? Decorating? Listening to Christmas music?
I have started drafting my shopping list however no purchases have been made. Must get on that I suppose. Decorating I tend to wait until after Thanksgiving since I have a lot of cute fall things that I'd like to get more use out of. And as for the Christmas music- well, it's pretty impossible not to listen to it since they pump it out of the speakers in every Starbucks and place that I stop for lunch.

6. What do you know about your parents wedding?
I love listening to my mom talk about their wedding. It's so fun to get a better idea of what my parents were like when they were at this stage in their life. I know the year they got married they were also in 10 weddings between the two of them! My mom went with my grandma and her sister to a wedding show/fair/whatever and was very decisive about what she wanted- bouquet, photographer, etc. (I hope I can make clear decisions when it's my turn- I am notoriously bad at that.) They got married in a church in Maryville, TN where my dad is from. I know my mom's bridesmaids wore peach colored dresses. My dad still had a mustache and looked very handsome and my mom was absolutely beautiful. Their reception was at a hotel and they went to Florida for their honeymoon and that was the second time my dad flew on an airplane.

7. I can't believe I: will be at home with my family in less than a week! Get here now!
