on the eve of 24
I just can't quite wrap my head around the fact that I am going to be 24 tomorrow. I have this fear that I'm going to be hit with a wave of unfinished business because you're supposed to have stuff figured out by your mid twenties right?
Leaving 23 behind is ok with me though. Peter is coming in to town tonight for a few days to celebrate and be close by. I'm so excited to see him when I get home from work. And I am excited for this whole new year of life. A birthday is something I will not ever take for granted- that's one lesson I can take away from this past year.
I've kinda been in a holding pattern for a while and I can just feel it, big life, right around the corner of 23 and I'm going after it.

Hope you have a FABULOUS day tomorrow! Looking forward to celebrating with you soon.

Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday!! Stopped by via your moms blog :) She said to recommend a book to you. One of the best books I have ever read is Mrs. Mike by Benedict and Nancy Freeman. Also I loved Saving Cee Cee Honeycutt and The Girl Who Chased the Moon. And lastly, if you like mysteries or sarcatic writing style then I recommend the Spellman series by Lisa Lutz which is one of my new favorite series ever. Have a fab day!
ReplyDeleteHi Shannon, popped over from your mum's blog (who has written a lovely tribute to you - she's a very proud mum) to wish you a very happy birthday. I understand you've received an e-reader and if you are looking for any authors to download then I would recommend Phillipa Gregory (her most famous one is The Other Boleyn Girl) and also Louise Penny with her series set in Three Pines (murder mystery). Have a fantastic day, best wishes from the UK.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Shannon.

ReplyDeleteOh how my heart swelled with emotion reading your mom's post this morning. It brought back a rush of memories of reading to my own daughter so many moons ago. Some of those very titles. She too has a love for reading. Have a wonderful, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious kind of day. Enjoy your Nook! Blessings, SusanD

ReplyDeleteYour mom sent me to say, "Happy Birthday!!" :)
ReplyDeletetwo off-the-wall books to give a try:
Random Harvest by James Hilton. It has mystery, romance, etc. It was written in 1941 and made into a film in 1942 starring Ronald Coleman and Greer Garson. You can read about it on Wikipedia. I once walked into a library and asked the head librarian to tell me what her favorite book was. She said, "Random Harvest." I checked it out and it became my fave, as well.
A second book, that my 22-year-old daughter just had me read was Aunt Epp's Guide for Life by Elspeth Marr. You can check it out on Amazon. It is quirky. She was a victorian lady who had lots of opinions on many subjects, all indexed alphabetically for the reader.
Hope your day is special!
I hope you have a fantastic year. You are one o three very specials girls in my life and I wish I was there to give you and hug and a kiss. Love you lots....Daddy
