Weekend Wrap-Up

This weekend Peter was pretty occupied with fraternity stuff, new pledges, and writing a smarty pants scientific paper (that he occasionally asks me to proof read and that I don't understand a third of). This worked out well for me though because it let me have lots of much needed girl time.

So, Friday night I went to dinner with Leah and Liz, who were both Young Life leaders with me. I've said this before but my Young Life team is seriously like a second family. These two girls in particular joined the team at the same time I did and it warms my heart that we are still close, in both distance and in spirit. I cannot tell you enough how invaluable these friendships are- in keeping me accountable, in being prayerful listeners and a solid support system, oh and did I mention that they are just oh so much fun!

"For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them."
Matthew 18:30
Saturday I had to work most of the day but then Leah and I had a sleepover, watched Sex in the City, and chatted for a long time. In the morning the two of us picked up Pumpkin Spice Lattes (seriously I'm obsessed) and headed to church together. There they shared 1 Corinthians 3:10-23 and talked about building everything in your life (the church, marriages and friendships) on the foundation of Christ because nothing is stronger. It was quite appropriate and wonderful I thought (although my brief summation can't possibly do it justice).

Since I worked both Saturday and Sunday evening I have today and tomorrow off. This afternoon Peter and I went to Whole Foods for lunch. We both piled our plates with yummy-ness from the hot bar. Then we wandered around for a while and we both decided we should just move in (he'd live in the meat section and I'd live in the fresh produce). Oh and I dropped anniversary hints like crazy for these chocolate covered strawberries and daisies that I saw there.

So that's what's been going on since my last post on Friday.
Happy Monday ya'll!

  2. Sounds like you had an amazing weekend doing what makes you happy.... being with girlfriends, but also spending time with Peter. I got a sweet note from your Mom today. I sure hope we get to meet each other one day. That would be so fun! Enjoy the rest of your week. Love & blessings from NC!
