P is for Picture Perfect

During some break in my senior year of high school my family went on another ski trip. This time to Seefeld, Austria. The date's easy for me to remember because I have braces in these pictures and I only had braces my senior year. I do not miss those braces... but oh how I miss this trip.
We stayed at the Aktivhotel Veronika and it was perfect. You could basically walk out the front door and hop on the ski lift. Most of our meals were enjoyed at the hotel. We were seated at the same table in the dinning room each day for breakfast and dinner- we had the same waiter, made friends with the people at the near by tables, it was "our" table. In the mornings we were presented with entree choices for that evening's meal.  Each dinner was multiple courses and so delicious.
Of course lunch was usually yummy brats and hot chocolate that we would enjoy mountaintop after a long morning of going up and down the slopes. I was even able to drag sister on some bunny slopes, although she definitely prefers the lounge chairs and blankets to ski poles and boots.
We took a day off from snow-bathing to drive to Innsbruck where the Winter Olympics were hosted a couple times in the past.  The coolest and absolute scariest part was visiting the Bergisel Ski Jump. It had a clear platform at the tippy-top so you could stand right where the insane-mental-out of their mind-ski jumper would stand before making the plunge.   And in case you weren't already convinced that this was a death-defying stunt, there is a cemetery seen in the distance on the other end of the jump. Yeah right! You could offer me 2 million dollars and I would still run screaming from the tower before I'd ever go off this jump.

I will admit that, even though I would prefer to be in the stands,  the view from the top of the ski jump was beautiful. But then again, it's hard to find a bad view in the Austrian Alps. The entire vacation was filled with picture perfect sights that make for picture perfect memories...
