So this is Spring?

This weekend started out with a fun date-night with my roommate on Friday. We very rarely have time for just us girls and it was so nice to go out and really catch up. We went to dinner at Seasons 52 which I love! Everything is so fresh and really healthy and in season...
I'm so glad my roommate doesn't think it's weird to take pictures of your food. We shared one of their yummy flatbreads with goat cheese, spinach, and artichoke. I also got a spinach salad with raspberries and Gorgonzola. I pretty much always get scallops if they're on the menu so for my main course I had caramelized scallops with roasted asparagus, and sun-dried tomato-mushroom pearl pasta. I highly recommend a visit if there is a Seasons 52 by you!

After dinner we ended up renting Pitch Perfect from On Demand which we both LOVED! Neither of us had seen it before and it was so fun!

Saturday I did a big grocery shopping and then  spent the rest of the day in my sweats. We both did a little Spring-cleaning, except I refuse to call this crappy weather Spring. I washed all my sheets, towels, bath rugs, and the cover on my day bed. I put away all the laundry that was clean but still scattered around my room. Nothing feels better than getting into bed at night with clean sheets and a clutter-free room.

Sunday we went to my church together. She usually goes into downtown DC for church and I head the opposite way, out towards where I lead Young Life. It was such a nice treat to go together. AND they had a special guest leading the worship music, For King & Country, which made it extra fun.

After church her boyfriend made us omelets which were followed by more relaxing on the couch, more chick flicks and then the pre-finale of The Walking Dead. Nothing too special, but an entire weekend with that roommate who is always on the go was much appreciated.

Today we woke up to actual snow... the week before Easter... almost April. That groundhog was a big fat liar!

Unfortunately the Office of Personnel Management didn't give us the day off or even a delayed opening. Unlike like before, when we just got rain,  we have about 4 inches on the ground and it's still coming down.  Apparently they base their closures on media hype and not the actual accumulation of the white stuff on the ground.

I'm over this never-ending winter. And I am sure everyone is ready for the East Coast bloggers to stop posting about this fluke-y weather. Hope there is actual Spring wherever you are!

  1. Your dinner looks yummy. Snowing here now, but I don't think we're supposed to get any real accumulation. The forecasters say 50 on Easter Sunday...we can hope they get it right this time!

  3. No Spring here yet! Last week in AR it did get up to 78 then was 38 the next day. You never know how to pack this time of year. Glad I put in some long sleeve shirts. We got a few flurries yesterday but I think just about everything is melted.
    until next time...nel
