And On We Go

I feel like so much has happened is such a short period of time (although I feel like I've been away from my life for ages) and I just cannot think of the best way to write about or if I even should. I feel somewhat conflicted writing like normal when our family is still searching for the new normal, if there is such a thing.
After my sister's graduation, our interrupted time in Florida (where I managed to get enough sun on the first day to last me all week) and our coming together as a family to support one another and to celebrate Anna, I just don't know where to begin.

I returned from Chicago Tuesday night (I think). It was not easy to leave all my family. My parents dropped sister and I off at the airport in the afternoon before they began the long drive back to NJ. Sister and I got to get lunch together at the airport and spend a little more time talking before we had another tearful (on my part) goodbye and headed to our respective gates.

It was good to sleep in my own bed and un-pack my suitcase (somewhat). And see my roommate after what feels like a month! Work was very understanding of the extra, unexpected time away. Although I'm sure they're not thrilled that I'm turning around and heading out again tonight after work. Yep, that's right. Life does indeed go on, even if you cannot understand why or how.

After doing a lot of laundry last night I dragged my suitcase to work with me again. I will be metroing to the airport that I just returned from two days ago and flying to Florida, again. This time to celebrate my dear friend's upcoming wedding and to have a big hootenanny at the beach. I'm hoping my slowly-fading-to-tan-sunburned legs will provide a decent base to get some actual color. A girls weekend is a magical, healing thing- wouldn't you agree?

  2. I'm glad you get the weekend with your girls. I know you need it. I wish I could have shared my thoughts as nicely as you did yours. I just kept adding words. And more words. I have a lot of words in my post today.

  4. Oh, I've said the same thing so many time, "life does go on, regardless." And, sometimes we wish that it didn't, that things would just stop for a time and let us catch up. But, I'm sure it is for the best and it's what helps us to cope during the tough times. I've thought often of your sweet family during this time. I so enjoyed reading the article about Anna. What a special young lady! I hope your weekend was fun and theraputic for you. Blessings!
